LD Training operates a continuous admissions process, to enable flexibility for applicants, in progressing their application though to registration, and then enrolment. Once an applicant has completed registration with LD Training, they will be invited to enrol for the next available start date, which represents the start date of the next academic unit of their programme.
All academic units are delivered in sequence, and normally, a new academic unit will start at the start of each month.
An applicant will have the right to defer to the next available unit start date, up to a max of 3 times, before being required to submit a new application and begin the whole application process again.
The minimum processing time for application submission and processing, is 30 days. Applications received less than 30 days before the start date of the next unit, will automatically be considered for the start date of the following unit.
LD Training will always aim to enrol students on their chosen academic programmes, as soon as possible.
LD Training seeks to admit applicants who are suitably qualified and who are believed to have the potential to succeed. This commitment is underpinned by three factors which are key to indicating the likely success of a student:
These factors, alongside formal qualifications and certified learning, will be assessed through an applicant's personal statement and in some cases, at interview and/or through an admissions assessment.
As part of your online application to LD Training, you will be asked to submit your academic qualifications (certificates, transcripts, academic references, and certified translations), and any forecast exam results for qualifications you have recently taken.
LD Training will review your international qualifications and we will use ENIC to benchmark your international qualifications with UK equivalents (www.enic.org.uk). This enables us to compare qualifications from around the world, with our stated academic entry requirements, for each academic programme.
Our academic entry requirements for each programme are shown on our website, and are presented using the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) used in the UK.
Applicants are advised to reference their qualifications using ENIC, prior to application, to understand if they meet the academic entry requirements for their chosen programme (www.enic.org.uk).
Our English Language entry requirements for each programme are shown on our website.
Applicants who do not use English as a first language, are required to hold a UK recognised qualification with the required IELTS score (or equivalent), for their chosen programme.
LD Training may consider professional experience and/or experiential learning, in lieu of standard academic qualifications. LD Training may also invite an applicant to attend an online interview and/or sit an online admissions assessment.
If appropriate, LD Training may accept an applicant's prior experience as counting towards a degree programme, and an applicant may be given either advanced entry, or exemption from specific units, on the programme.
Credits accumulated from an academic programme at another educational organisation may, where appropriate, be counted towards a degree programme at LD Training. Where credits are accepted and used to count towards a degree programme, an applicant may be given either advanced entry, or exemption from specific units, on the programme.
LD Training may also accept applicants transferring from another educational organisation at the end of one study level, to start their programme at LD Training at the start of the next study level.
Applicants seeking to transfer credits, or transfer from a different educational organisation into LD Training, should contact the Admissions team via the Admissions portal, to request further advice.
LD Training delivers a dedicated Admissions service via the LD Training Admissions portal (SPARK), which is managed by the Admissions team. Admissions decisions are made by the Admissions team, in collaboration with academic Tutors and Programme Leads.
An offer will be formally communicated to the applicant, by the Admissions team, using the LD Training Admissions portal, after a full review of the application and associated documents. In assessing the academic suitability and potential of applicants, the following information is considered:
In assessing the academic suitability and potential of applicants, the Admissions team may also draw on a variety of additional assessment methods including:
LD Training will consider all applications and make decisions as quickly as possible. The minimum recommended processing time, from application to student registration and enrolment, is 30 days. The time taken to respond will vary according to the type of application, the completeness of information provided, and seasonal variations in the workload of the Admissions team. Applicants are advised to apply as early as possible to be considered for an offer of a place on their chosen programme.
In cases where LD Training is unable to offer an applicant entry to the programme at the requested study level, the applicant may be considered for entry on to the same programme, at a lower study level, or for entry onto an alternative programme.
Successful applicants will receive an offer of entry from LD Training. The offer of entry will either be unconditional, or conditional with identified conditions that the applicant will need to meet, before receiving an unconditional offer. Such conditions may include achieving the required exam results for pending qualifications, the submission of additional evidence, attendance at an interview and/or an admissions assessment.
Unconditional offers will only be made once an applicant has met all academic and non-academic conditions for entry to the programme. Once all conditions relating to a conditional offer are met, the offer will be converted into an unconditional offer.
Applicants will be able to view the progress of their conditional offer, to an unconditional offer, via the Admissions portal. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that they meet all the conditions listed in the conditional offer, and to notify the Admissions team of actions and results, via the Admissions portal.
Applicants who receive conditional offers must meet all the conditions identified and accept the unconditional offer, at least 14 days before the next available start date of the programme (which is the start date of the next academic unit).
To register as a student at LD Training, an applicant must (i) satisfy all the conditions of the conditional offer, (ii) pay a non-refundable deposit, which will be deducted from the full study level tuition fee, payable upon enrolment, and (iii) accept the unconditional offer.
Applicants who do not complete registration at least 14 days before the next available start date of the programme (which is the start date of the next academic unit), will automatically be deferred to the next entry date for the programme (which will be the start date of the following academic unit).
The Admissions team will only be able to issue a conditional offer, if an applicant has exam grades pending.
The conditional offer will be based on the predicated exam results, as verified by an academic at the awarding institution. Once the actual exam results are available, the applicant will be required to upload any relevant transcripts or certificates, into the Admissions portal, and to notify the Admissions team via the Admissions portal, that this action has been completed.
The Admissions team will then compare the actual exam grades with those required in the conditional offer, and if appropriate, will issue an unconditional offer, provided all the other conditions of the conditional offer, have been met.
Exceptional circumstances which may affect an applicant's examination results may include illness, bereavement or adverse family circumstances.
If an applicant believes they have exceptional circumstances, negatively impacting on their exam results or preventing them from achieving the conditions of their conditional offer, they should contact the Admissions team, via the Admissions portal. Letters of explanation should be accompanied by evidence from an appropriate person, qualified and able to confirm the exceptional circumstances (e.g. doctor or teacher), and should be submitted via the Admissions portal.
All academic units are delivered in sequence, and normally, a new academic unit will start at the start of each month.
An applicant will have the right to defer to the next available unit start date, up to a max of 3 times, before being required to submit a new application and begin the whole application process again.
The minimum processing time for application submission and processing, is 30 days, so applications received less than 30 days before the start date of the next unit, will automatically be considered for the start date of the following unit.
Applicants should notify the Admissions team of their intention to defer, via the Admissions portal. They will also be able to select their target start date, ensuring not to defer more than 3 times (i.e. 3 start dates for the next 3 academic units).
To become a registered student at LD Training, an applicant will need to (i) satisfy all the conditions of the conditional offer, (ii) accept the unconditional offer, and (iii) pay a non-refundable deposit, which will be deducted from the full study level tuition fee, payable upon enrolment.
The registration process includes the following activities, which must be complete 14 days or more, before the start date of the next academic unit:
Once an applicant has registered as a student at LD Training, they will progress to enrolment on their chosen programme. The enrolment process includes the following activities, which must be complete within 5 days of starting their academic unit:
It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that they have started the Admissions process in good time, with a minimum for 30 days before their intended start date. This ensures that an applicant is registered on time, and is fully prepared for their studies.
If the applicant is unable to complete the Admissions process and register as a student 14 days before the start of their programme (which is the start date of the next academic unit), they will automatically be deferred to the start date for the following academic unit.
Applicants who have previously studied with LD Training but did not fully complete the programme, may re-apply to complete the programme. Applicants with outstanding misconduct or appeals decisions will have their application 'held' at Admissions stage, until a resolution has been agreed.
If an applicant has previously studied with LD Training, but had their registration terminated for academic and/or non-academic disciplinary offences, their application will be considered at the discretion of the Dean.
Students who have already started their academic programme, will need to re-enrol at the start of each study level. This will be dependent on a student's start date and finish date of the previous study level, and will be unique to each student.
However, students will not be able to re-enrol on their programme if they have any unpaid tuition fees owing. Students will need to clear all their debts to LD Training, to be able to continue their studies.
To be able to re-enrol with LD Training at the start of the next study level, a student will need to have successfully completed all academic units of the previous study level, and to have received formal notification of this from LD Training.
Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable deposit (10% of the entire study-level tuition fee), to secure their place on their chosen programme. This non-refundable deposit will be deducted from the balance owing, of the entire study level tuition fee, payable within 3 days after enrolment on the programme.
Applicants are required to pay their non-refundable deposit when they register as a student at LD Training. They will need to pay the non-refundable deposit to satisfy one of the conditions of their conditional offer, before they receive and accept their unconditional offer.
If LD Training receives the non-refundable deposit less than 14 days before the start date of the next unit, the applicant's place on the programme will automatically be deferred to start of the start date of the following unit.
The study level tuition fee, less the 10% non-refundable deposit paid at the time of registration, is payable within 3 days of the start of the programme, and is non-refundable.
If an applicant's tuition fees are paid by a sponsor, the applicant may be exempt from the deposit payment. In all cases, the Admissions team will require proof of sponsorship, which should be provided in the form of a signed letter from the sponsor.
Applicants should only pay their non-refundable deposit and register as a student with LD Training, if they are fully committed to enrolling on their academic programme with LD Training.
There may, in some cases, be exceptional circumstances, where the non-refundable deposit and / or the study level tuition fee, which have been correctly retained by LD Training, may be refunded:
Requests for refunds must be submitted no later than 30 days after the applicant withdrew their application, or the student withdrew from their programme. Any refund request received after this date, will not be considered.
If an applicant's request for a refund is granted, the applicant will be advised via the Admissions portal. Refunds will only be made to the account from which the payment was originally made, and can take up to 30 days to be processed. LD Training will not refund any payments if it is determined that an applicant / student has acted fraudulently.
If an applicant choses to defer their start date for the course, or a student decides to suspend their studies to resume at a later date, all payments will be retained by LD Training, and deferred as appropriate.
It is the applicant's responsibility to provide LD Training with fully accurate, complete and true information, during the application process. It is also the applicant's responsibility to provide additional information, when requested to do so.
LD Training will investigate any applicant suspected of including false, plagiarised, incomplete or fraudulent information, as part of their application to LD Training. LD Training may also request additional information to fully assess the application.
If LD Training finds evidence that the applicant has submitted fraudulent, inaccurate, incomplete, false or misleading information during the Admissions process, LD Training may withdraw the application, withdraw the registered student, or withdraw the enrolled student.
All unsuccessful applicants will be given a reason why they were unsuccessful. As soon as a decision is made regarding an application, the Admissions team will provide feedback to the unsuccessful applicant, via the Admissions portal.
If an applicant is not satisfied with the outcome of their application, and wishes to appeal, they will need to complete and submit an Appeals form, via the Admissions portal.
