What is Safeguarding?

Safeguarding refers to the process, practice and culture embedded within LDT to create a safe environment where children, young people and adults at risk are free from all forms of harm, abuse or neglect.

LD Training is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all of its students and staff. There is no higher priority than our community’s safety and well-being. We expect all staff to share this commitment.

We recognise it is of the upmost importance that students feel safe. Our nurturing environment coupled with a culture of support means students can seek support they need quickly, and staff are trained identify common safeguarding concerns.

Students can feel confident and secure that detailed policies and procedures are in place to ensure that any concerns are addressed appropriately.

Our policies and procedures support our safeguarding commitment. All concerns are passed to our ‘Designated Safeguarding Officer’ for assessment and referral as appropriate. If there is any additional information you require, our safeguarding contact is happy to discuss any concerns. All students and staff are encouraged to report any safeguarding concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Officer.
