Keeping Up-To-Date While Self-Isolating

In light of the most recent COVID-19 announcements, many businesses have chosen to go remote. Schools have closed. Universities have cancelled exams until further notice. All over the country, people are making an effort to avoid large crowds and keep themselves safe.

LD Training is no exception. Your health and safety is our top priority, so we have been paying close attention to the situation. We will continue to stay updated and abide by Government guidelines to safeguard our staff and students. Our Coronavirus FAQs page contains a list of our most recent statements, with the most pressing at the top. This document is updated as and when we get more information about the ongoing situation.

Currently, we have closed our Nottingham and Dudley campuses and suspended face-to-face lectures and classes. We understand that this may cause concern and we would like to assure you that we will continue to do all we can to help you to get the most out of your education. However, there are also steps that you can take to keep yourself safe, stay up-to-date and keep learning.

Don’t Panic

We understand that you may be stressed or anxious about the situation. However, please remain calm and refrain from spreading misinformation.

Posts on social media may contain false information, which can cause panic and alarm, as well as making people seek solutions and remedies which may be ineffectual or even dangerous. Please do not participate in this by spreading false information or rumours.

We ask you to get all information about the coronavirus from a credible source, such as the World Health Organisation, NHS and Government websites. Be aware of your sources if you are posting about the virus online and please fact-check as much as possible before you inform others.

Stay Updated

The coronavirus situation is changing regularly, so it is important that you keep updated on what the Government and health services are doing. We recommend that you check the NHS and gov.uk websites for the latest information. Please follow their advice on self-isolation and keeping safe. We will strive to keep you updated here at LD Training. However, the Government and NHS will have the best information on how the virus is being dealt with throughout the country.

We also recommend that you keep yourself up-to-date on the situation in your local area. Your local council website is a good place to go if you would like to read about updates on the coronavirus near you. Please note that there may be changes to public transport and health services. Supermarkets may have restrictions on how much you can buy and you may no longer be able to meet in large groups.

For our students at our campus in Nottingham, please see the Nottingham City Council for the latest information. If you are at Dudley, you can find information at the West Midlands Authority. If you are from London, please check your local council.

Check Your Symptoms

Please be aware of the symptoms of the coronavirus (COVID-19). These include:

  • High temperature
  • Coughing
  • Shortness of breath

If you think you may have coronavirus, please seek medical advice. We recommend that you consult the NHS 111 service to check your symptoms and find out what to do if you are suspected to have the virus.

You may be asked to self-isolate. If this happens, please call or email to inform us so that we can take any necessary precautions.

Engage With Online Work

We have made efforts to ensure that you can continue your education remotely. So, we advise you to keep up with your work online and stay alert for any updates from us.

If you are studying for our B.A. Hons in Business and Management Foundation Year, all of your work will be up on the Moodle and we have begun online lectures. Please check your emails regularly to find out how to access lectures, as your attendance is still required.

For students on our Further Education courses, someone will be in touch with you via phone or email to keep you up-to-date with your assignments. We ask that you keep in communication with us, continue with the work we set and keep yourself safe.

We understand that the situation may change quickly, so we will be publishing any new updates on the website and through our social media. So, please follow us on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook and check the Coronavirus FAQs page if you have any questions in the future.

LD Training wishes you the best of luck with your continued studies, and we hope for your continued good health.
