Student Loans Company Issues a Statement Regarding COVID-19

In light of the government lock-down to tackle the spread of the coronavirus, we understand that our students and prospective students may have some concerns about their student loans. We at LD Training would like to assure you that we have been paying close attention to the situation.

On the 24th March 2020, the Student Loans Company (SLC) announced that they will continue to give out maintenance loan to students in the summer term. Tuition fees will be paid to education providers as normal.

In addition, the SLC have announced that they will continue with applications for September 2020 as normal.

We advise that you get your applications in as soon as possible. This is to prevent any delays which may arise. It will give the SLC the best chance to ensure that your application will be processed in time for the start of your course.

The SLC have, however, suspended their contact centres in light of the current situation. This means that you may not be able to get in touch with them if you have a question about your application.

As usual, we ask you to keep in contact with us about your application. We will try to help you as best we can in this situation. However, please be aware that we are working remotely and phone lines have been diverted. This means that our phone lines will be running on a reduced service. Our staff members will still be available to pick up emails if you have any questions.

As the COVID-19 situation is changing on a regular basis, we will continue to monitor the situation and keep you informed if there are any changes.

If you have any questions about your loan or application, please read the SLC statement for more information.

Thank you for your understanding.
